Karl Hedgepath......

Born in July of 1970.....raised in Wilmington, Delaware. Was first tattooed in 1988 at the age of 18 and took up the art of Body Piercing in 1993, trained at the Gauntlet in San Francisco in 1995 and worked at American Graffitti/Exotic Body in Sacramento, California. Moved to Washington, DC in 1996 and along with Tim Corun, opened Jinx Proof Tattoo, Washington DC's first tattoo shop since Carol Nightengale shut his doors in 1983. Slowly began to pick up both tattooing and machine building in the late '90's, gaining and trading info on machine building with Scott Sylvia, G.P. Russell, Mike Wilson, Seth Ciferri, Juan Puente, etc..... all while constantly watching some of the worlds best tattooers perform their craft. Tattooers such as Dan Higgs, Hori Taku, Eric Inksmith, Brady Duncan, Richard Stell, Jef whitehead, Scott Sylvia, Matt Rinks, Jeff Rassier, Mike Wilson, jason goldberg, Juan Puente, Keith Underwood, Pat Carmack, Aaron Cain, and countless others have all passed through the doors of Jinx Proof.

i am continually striving to do better tattoos and build better machines everyday. all while spending the remainder of my time with my 2 children and beautiful wife.......
